The Vodafone Blackberry STORM is Blackberry’s first stab at the touch screen world and aesthetically, it is pretty good looking. Apologies for the Iphone 3G comparison, but really, this device is a true competitor/rival to the Iphone 3G.

Footprint wise, the phone is similar to the Iphone 3G if albeit on the thicker side. The phone itself feels weighted with it’s metal back plate. The STORM is bigger than its brother, the Blackberry BOLD.

Using the phone, you will immediately notice that it is different to the Iphone 3G whereby you have to push the screen down to register the push. The whole screen is rather like a big button. I found this to be something you have to get used to but I find that typing emails is slower on the STORM than on both the Iphone 3G and the BOLD.

The screen itself is very good with nice clarity and contrast. The bundled demo video is awesome on the screen and sound is also very good from the built in speakers - better than the Iphone 3G. As a result, standby time is greatly reduced and will last about a day. This is slightly better than the Iphone 3G, but nowhere near the Blackberry BOLD.

There is space to add a micro SD card and also the battery is removeable/replaceable which is a plus point.

Not the best Blackberry for emailing but still very useable. Better than the Iphone 3G for emailing but lacks the bells and whistles of the Iphone 3G. All in all a good phone - but the BOLD is better for emailing.
